Junk mail is a frustrating thing. We know - we used to get it too. But one afternoon at the mailbox, we decided enough was enough. First, we neither wanted nor read any of the unsolicited paper junk crowding our mailbox. Second, it was becoming increasingly difficult to sort through the mail we wanted versus the junk mail we didn't. And third, the companies sending us the junk mail were wasting a tremendous amount of a paper printing the junk mail we didn't want in the first place.

We spent the better part of six weeks researching junk mail, identifying the places it was coming from, and contacting the companies who were sending it. Amazingly - a lot of faxes, phone calls, and envelopes later - we stopped it! In the process, we identified a number of companies who were compromising our personal information by selling it not only to junk mailers but to regular people too. Essentially, anybody could buy our personal information (address, phone number, previous residences, SSN, etc). It was a very frightening realization. So we spent a few more weeks figuring out how to stop this too and we did!
